Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2009! I hope everything went well for you last year and that this year is even better. So far for me, its been kind of rough. Been extremely busy with work (ugh!) and trying to get several new projects off the ground.

This mix is probably one of the best Ive made in awhile. It goes from hard electro to kind of mellow progressive and then kind of bobs and waves around a kind of dark electro house sound.

Progressive House. I know I bitched about hating House music in a previous post, but this is different. Progressive House has many of the things Im looking for, its got the heavy bass line, its got the melodic electro-ish synths (sometimes it gets a bit to Trancey for my taste). I think the thing about House that I dont like is that most of it doesnt have a soild bass. Its all so disco-synth and horn driven that it gets on my nerves. Although I did just discover some House I do like, Mike Milk and Steve Sugar. Anyway I digress. Back to the subject at hand, this mix is pretty mellow, its good background music while your doing something else. Running time is 39 minutes and 39 seconds containing 9 tracks. Im still following the Harmonic Mixing method of picking songs by key.

My Progressive House selection is pretty skimpy, I think its like 70 tracks or so. Another problem is that now that Im doing everything according to the Harmonic Mixing chart, its even harder because each key only has a handful of tracks in it.
