Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2009! I hope everything went well for you last year and that this year is even better. So far for me, its been kind of rough. Been extremely busy with work (ugh!) and trying to get several new projects off the ground.

This mix is probably one of the best Ive made in awhile. It goes from hard electro to kind of mellow progressive and then kind of bobs and waves around a kind of dark electro house sound.

So I have some news, I found out that it only counts it if you play the entire track from start to finish, so most of the tracks that I play arent counted as plays because I dont play the song all the way through from start to finish. So now what Im doing to try and track this more accurately is to skip to the end of the tracks after mixes and plays so that it gets the play count.

A variety of songs in a variety of styles. It starts off kind of hard, gets mellow, and mellower and then comes back to some nudisco funk at the end. There are A LOT of songs used in this mix, so many that I really dont feel like making the play list (19 songs total) right now, but Ill update this post with it in the future (when in the future.. I dont know.. but eventually Ill do it).

90% of this mix is done in the Key of 7A (I forget what that translates to in terms of real notes). The last few songs go up and down a step or two in each direction, I was running out of songs I liked that are in the key of 7A.

According to Traktors “Play Count” column these are the top 10 songs that I listen to and or mix with. I dont exactly agree with this list. In my opinion this represents an older smaller library of music with limited selection, thus the high play counts (not shown) for these songs.

Currently my collection of music has doubled or even tripled in size of when I feel this list represents.

Pure old fashioned House music. Fairly mellow, good background listening while your doing other things. Kind of short, 43 minutes and 02 seconds. I dont have the play list because I didnt save it by accident. Most of this stuff hasnt been played before, so its not a re-hash of stuff youve already heard in other mixes.

Bye Bye Xone:42! Hello Xone:92!

Alrighty, I sent the Xone:42 back to where it came from. After my ordeal with being basicly duped by Allen & Heaths false description of the mixers capibilities, I decided to just suck it up and get the Xone:92 which does indeed have MIDI capibilities. Why the Xone:42 doesnt is beyond stupid, especially for a mixer that cost $1300 to not support even at least the cross fader as MIDI controable input is just plain stupid if you ask me. What good is a USB mixer if it doesnt support MIDI? But I digress… Anyway, I talked to the people that I got the bunk-42 from and they hooked me up with the Xone:92 insted. You know whats funny, Allen & Heath had the audactiy to suggest that I buy a Xone:1D in addition to the 42 if I wanted MIDI. But you know what, its actuallyu cheaper to straight up buy the Xone:92 than it is to buy the 42 and the 1D individually. Stupid Allen & Heath dont even know the price of their own products. Let me just add that this will be the first and only Allen & Heath product that I ever buy, and if its not the fucking best thing since sliced bread, its going straigh back to the store it came from.

This is some bullshit. So I spent all the money I had to get a Xone:42 so I could control Traktor from a handware surface. Well aparently the Xone:42 doesnt do MIDI. Then why the FUCK DOES IT HAVE A USB AUDIO INTERFACE FOR IF ITS NOT GOING TO DO MIDI? Seriously? Thats so bullshit, Allen and Heath are liars and this mixer is having its capabilities falsely advertised.

DO NOT BUY THIS MIXER IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO CONTROL YOUR MIDI DEVICES WITH OR YOUR EFFECTS ON YOUR COMPUTER, IT WILL NOT WORK.

Ive been kind of electroed-out the last few weeks. I just havent really been all that into it. Ive been secretly collecting chill out tunes and replay old deep house tracks.
